Field Trip

Last Friday Feb. 17, we went on a field trip to Camp Regulus, Brgy. Progeso in Ajuy.   In the spirit of green I allowed myself to be enveloped by nature’s beauty and bounty.  It was a really a nice day to be out except that we didn’t just walked, or hiked we actually CLIMBED  a mountain!!  Well not a really tall one but still a mountain.  My exercise background being walking around the house, the school and of course the mall, this was really kind of new for me but I’m up to the challenge!  An hour into our mountain trek I am convinced I was having an out of body experience because it seemed  to me that my mind was one person and my body another.  I could hear my mind tell my body charge! Move! Stretch your muscles! Climb this way, and that way!  And then I hear my body say to my mind “ Do I know you?”  This is really tough!  But upon reaching the top of the mountain I take back all the curses I’ve been parting with since midway up the climb because it was such a wonderful sight!  No pain no gain!  So true!  We took pictures of the view and the plants around and of course not to be forgotten , the most important  ones, the main cast…ourselves.  Check out our pics!

Dinagyang Fever

To immerse myself in the city’s Dinagyang spirit I went with my family to SM city today to watch the Filmfest movie “Local Girls” to patronize our local film makers.  Then on to the more fun part,  I met up with my friends,   Kaye Tan and Ela Duran, we went to the Carnival.   Having just experienced the scary rides at Enchanted Kingdom last summer,  I entered the carnival with a bold spirit.  I took on all the rides without a tinge of fear.  FUN!!!  After having dinner with my family at Steps of Rome in Plazuella I gave the carnival rides another go this time with my brother and his friend. FUN!!! We ended with a nightcap at Padi’s Point with the family and some cousins.  Fun!!!  Talk about fever, this year was really hot , in the fun sense that is.

What a foul time to have a disability!  My doctor says I can’t join the ball games because my fractured elbow bone just healed so I need to give it a rest for a while, sort of giving it time to grow stronger.  But this minor obstacle has not dampened my sports spirit this week and besides there is the cheering competition to cheer me up and wait…the basketball games!!  Not really a basketball enthusiast but my friends and I have decided that we want to appreciate beauty by ogling the players.  Besides we do cheerleading justice by really shouting till our lungs ache in the courtside.  Our tribe, INCA , got second place overall.  Not bad I guess but of course first is ALWAYS better, anyways maybe next year will be our year.   The important thing is it was fun and fun is always good for me.  See you next year… competitions!

FIESTA!!!  It’s our town fiesta today, the Feast Of The Sto. Nino in Arevalo, Iloilo City.   Let’s see how can I describe my day?  Wait I have just the right word for it…“ food overload.”  If that really exists I think that is what happened to me today. Food everywhere! I love food but today is just too much. I think that is what you get if you go house hopping all day, so much food so little space in the stomach!  I wanted to go by the plaza to watch our fireworks display but I needed to soothe my restless stomach so I’m home alone in front of the computer patiently waiting for my stomach to finish its job digesting maybe 5 or 6 courses of food so I can sleep. Sigh…I mean burp!
